About Ben Vonberg-Clark
I studied music and German at Durham University, which gave me the opportunity to have a year abroad in Vienna teaching at a children’s theatre. This has led me onto a varied career in music and education, and German has paid a large part. A huge amount of singing repertoire is in German, and being able to understand the words, rather than just pronounce them, has been a major differentiator between me and the rest of the field. Not to mention forming relationships with German musicians in a way that I never could have as a non-German speaker.
