German Day for Teachers

Come along and enjoy another supportive and inspirational German Day at the Goethe Institut in Glasgow, packed with information and activities designed to support you to support German in Scotland’s schools. This invitation is for primary and secondary colleagues who currently teach / are planning to (re)introduce German.

Presenters:

Louise Glen, Senior Education Officer Education Scotland: 1+2 and German
Louise will speak about the situation of German in Scottish schools in the light of the 1+2 policy of the Scottish Government. She will also talk about uptake and SQA exam results.
 
Kirsten Herbst-Gray, Langholm Academy: Higher German
Kirsten will summarise the most important points of this year's course report for Higher German. She will focus on the advice to centres section and suggest approaches to Learning and Teaching based on her classroom experience. 

Anke Hilt, Teacher at the Goethe Institute Glasgow
Anke will present her didactisation for the German film “Hördur”. This is a hands-on approach with both German and English language materials.

Dr. Sabine Schlüter, Goethe Institute Glasgow:
Sabine will inform about the latest projects and materials of the Goethe Institute.

David Summerville, PT MFL Hamilton College: How to Pass AH German
David will give some tips on how to prepare students for the AH Talking Performance based on his classroom practice.  He will also share his experience on how to succeed in the AH folio and the overall purpose question in the AH reading exam.
