Programme Coordinator
Goethe-Institut Glasgow

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global presence. We facilitate international cultural exchange, promote access to the German language and support the unimpeded development of culture and science.

Goethe-Institut Glasgow is looking for a Programme Coordinator (m/f/d), starting on 01.05.2024 (or later). This role is part-time, with a commitment of 50 % (19,5 hours per week).

The annual full-time pay equivalent for the position is £29,256.
 

Duties comprise:

  • Project organisation and coordination for the cultural programme
  • Budget management: Handle financial planning & narrative reporting
  • External communication: contributing content to website, newsletter, flyers, etc.
  • Draft contracts and negotiate licences
  • Conduct research on relevant topics
  • Provide German-English and English-German translations as needed
  • Conceptualisation: Assist in shaping the annual program
  • Monitoring new trends and developments in arts and culture in Scottland and Germany, particularly in performative and fine arts
  • Maintaining partner network and artist contacts in coordination with Head of Goethe-Institut Glasgow
  • Maintining the department’s archive
  • Programme Team Support: Act as a stand-in during team members’ annual leave periods

Requirements:

  • Prior work experience in a cultural institution
  • Experience with project management is desirable
  • Very good familiarity with contemporary art, music, and theatre landscapes in Scotland and Germany, including both public and private institutions and historical developments.
  • Very good command of both German and English
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Flexibility, reliability, and self-reliance
  • Strong social and intercultural skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Creativity and innovative approach
  • Willingness to flexible work time division for events, including evenings and Weekends, if needed
  • A valid residency and work permit for UK
