Topic: Geschenke - Gifts
The Goethe-Institut London invites German teachers and their pupils to take part in this unique competition series. German and IT is THE combination! Fun and steep learning curves are guaranteed when you take on one of these tasks:
- Watching a video clip to learn about German birthday parties.
- Doing a research to get to know toys from Germany.
- Taking part in an interview reading competition about Christmas presents by recording or filming your class/group (texts will be provided)
- Creating your own German comic from a template given in the competition
- Using your own creativity to think about a souvenir that you would offer to a German friend
… and all you need is a computer.
Five categories for different levels of language skills are provided. Primary teachers and secondary teachers can choose which competition they think suits their students best.

13th November 2015 including the following details:
- Teacher’s name
- School’s name and address
- Level/s German is taught (e.g. Years 5 and 7)
- Intended number of participants in competition
- Email address.
You will be sent an USB-stick 4 days prior to the start of the competition. All the categories are explained and the relevant materials are provided.
The materials are also suitable for working offline.
Additional teaching material by the Goethe-Institut will be included on the sticks to support your German programme.
Every student taking part will receive a small gift acknowledging their participation. In the creative categories we have cash prizes for participants or groups of participants.
