The German Embassy Career Fair is back for 2016! The fair will again be held in collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on Tuesday 29th November and is jointly organised by the German Embassy and the German-British Chamber of Industry & Commerce. The organisers hope to welcome graduates and university students, as well as pupils.
Aiming to underline the importance of German language skills the fair has been held annually since 2010. These skills are of particular relevance here as Germany continues to be one of the UK's top trading partners.
Companies and organisations represented at the 2016 German Embassy Career Fair are: American Express, Blick Rothenberg, BMW Financial Services, Boston Consulting Group, BSH Home Appliances Ltd, The Chartered Institute of Linguists, Commerzbank AG, The European Commission Representation in the UK, LSE German Society, Plasser UK, Robert Bosch, Siemens and Worldkonnekt.
At the fair visitors will have the opportunity:
- to meet representatives of German companies as well as British companies with important business links to German speaking countries
- to discuss employment opportunities at these companies
- to hear about the importance of German language skills in a career context
Vistors will also be able to get detailed information on German language learning, studying in Germany and how German and British schools can collaborate on projects from the Embassy's attending partner organisations - Goethe-Institut, DAAD and UK-German Connection. Moreover, throughout the day of the fair a number of short presentations will be given by experts from industry and educational institutions to further highlight the importance of language skills for jobs.
Please note there will be four slots running throughout the day and visitors need to register for one particular time slot here:
- 10 - 11:30am - students & graduates
- 11:30am - 1pm - school pupils (Year 10+) & students
- 1 - 2:30pm - school pupils (Year 10+) & students
- 2:30 - 4pm - students & graduates
