Part of a triple bill also featuring William Forsythe and Hans van Manen
English National Ballet performs Pina Bausch's iconic
Le Sacre du Printemps (The Rite of Spring), in an electrifying triple bill also featuring William Forsythe's
In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated and Hans van Manen's
Adagio Hammerklavier.
Pina Bausch’s production
Le Sacre du Printemps features 13 male and 13 female dancers and a stage covered in soil. Dancing the selection and sacrifice of a terrified victim, it is as gut-wrenching and galvanising as Stravinsky’s score, performed live by English National Ballet Philharmonic. English National Ballet is only the second ballet Company in the world, and the only UK Company, to perform Bausch's masterpiece, not seen in the UK since the 2008 Tanztheater Wuppertal performances.
