10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Goethe-Institut Glasgow

Primary school teachers are invited to take part in our Professional Development Day. We offer language practice as well as a great variety of ideas and concepts to make teaching and learning relevant and fun. This event is also a good opportunity to meet colleagues from other schools, to build confidence and to exchange ideas and best practice. Simone Conboy, an experienced language tutor, linguist and teacher trainer, will guide you through the workshops.
Language: English with German activity elements.

Workshop 1: 'Fun Approaches to Pronunciation'
This session will provide practical ideas and a range of songs to sing along with their classes.

Workshop 2: 'A Tale of two Tails'
Two very short and simple stories will enable primary colleagues to enjoy authentic materials with their children and ways to exploit a range of teaching methods.
Workshop 3: Best practice
Please feel free to bring your own materials or props to present in our best practice session.

About the trainer:
Simone Conboy has a first degree (Potsdam), teaching qualification (Berlin/Spandau) and MA in Applied Linguistics (Birkbeck). She developed CLIL materials with CILT and has represented the Goethe Institut as a Trainer for primary and secondary resources.
