Do you wonder at times about the origins of certain German words? Do you ask yourself how German words have become established in your mother tongue? This month’s 'Deutsche Runde'
focuses on interesting words which have ‘immigrated’ into the German language and ‘emigrated’ from German into other languages. We will familiarise ourselves with their history and learn more about the people, who brought or took them along, and their time. Our session will finish with a quiz that allows you to test your knowledge. Why not come along and introduce us to an ‘immigrated’ or ‘emigrated’ word that fascinates you!
'Deutsche Runde' is an informal gathering and exchange around a chosen topic of German language or culture. It is ideal for learners with some knowledge of German (B1 and higher). We meet once a month on a Thursday afternoon.
