Goethe-Institut Ghana

A Night with FATAU KEITA

Just in time for the upcoming second half of the year, the Goethe-Institut Ghana will be unleashing its cosy and casual Abansuro Nights as part of the new programm outline.
Every first Wednesday of the Month young artists will be provided a platform to showcase their artistic creations to an open-minded audience on the unique terrace of the Goethe-Institut in Accra. Unplugged and diverse solo performances bathed in warm light create a serene atmosphere that encourages an intense one-to-one exchange between artist and audience.  The culinary well-being will be guaranteed by the Goethe Canteen.

This ABANSURO night will host FATAU KEITA.

A vocalist with an amazing musical expression and intense stage performance, Keita’s live concerts constantly exude intense energy alongside a magnetic stagecraft. He has performed to cheering audiences in various parts of Ghana and a number of African countries.

Keita’s acoustic recordings illuminate his musical skills and feel as a soloist, indeed his studio recordings showcase a strong quest for the popular and therefore take musical inspiration from various Ghanaian and non-Ghanaian sources.

Consequently, Fatau Keita has created a new vibrant music rooted in his outstanding musicality through contemporary Dagomba culture. Undeniably, Pan-West African world music, Ghana’s modern popular music as well as Twi and Hausa “lingua franca popular music & culture” make up the special texture of his music.

You are a young a musician, poetry slammer or performing artist? You want to show your talent to a small crowd, interact with peers and senior colleagues and have an unforgettable night? Apply now to become part of Goethe’s Abansuro!
