Panel 1: Otto Königsbeger and Tropical Architecture: A Fading Legacy
Otto Königsbeger and Tropical Architecture: A Fading Legacy?
Contemporary Ghanaian architecture has been dominated by steel, concrete and glass, resulting in highly expensive and energy inefficient projects. This panel shall critically assess the extent to which architects working in the tropics, Ghana especially, are engaging with the principles of “Tropical Architecture” or not in their projects. The panel will assess the influence of other proponents of Tropical Modernist Architecture and urban planning.
