Ibrahim Mahama: EXCHANGE-EXCHANGER (1957 – 2057). “Exchange – Exchanger 1957-2057” is a monograph on Ibrahim Mahama’s practice, specifically covering a series of public and private interventions carried out across two Ghanaian cities from 2015 to 2016. Over this period, Mahama’s monumental jute sack installations draped, covered and hanged over a constellation of sites in Accra and Kumasi. Currently a PhD student of the Department of Painting and Sculpture, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST, Kumasi), his book, which is presented in English, French and German was commissioned by blaxTARLINES KUMASI, a Project Space for Contemporary Art at the Department of Painting and Sculpture, KNUST.
