Production and logistics are two topics that are bound to emerge first when managing exhibitions. Artwork, layout, delivery of works, exhibition room design, and many related matters also vie for attention. It seems as if everyone has the knowledge and the ability to get involved in this line of work, and yet what are the actual key issues in production and logistics? Who has what responsibility? How do we design production and logistics strategies for different scopes of work, for instance for exhibitions in alternative spaces, in museums or at international art events such as biennales?
