GoetheKino is a film screening programme that presents works from the Goethe-Institut's film archive to film enthusiasts and the general public. Through this initiative, audiences are invited to explore different cultural perspectives and cinematic aesthetics from Germany, while opening up space for intercultural dialogue.

In 2025, GoetheKino is collaborating with Bahasinema and the Bandung Film Commission to present a more diverse film curation. In addition to German films, this year's programme will also feature cinematic works from Indonesia, enriching the spectrum of themes, narratives and cinematic approaches. A series of interactive activities, including discussions, talks and workshops, will be part of the programme, offering audiences the opportunity to engage more deeply with the cinematic experience.

This year we are looking forward to highlighting, critically examining and discussing various aspects such as the role of women in society, parent-child relationships, dealing with difference and growing up in different societies from a German and Indonesian perspective in an entertaining way.

Bahasinema is a collective of curators, critics, bloggers, reviewers, audiences and film activists. Founded on 25 September 2015, Bahasinema focuses on discourse-based film screenings and discussions, as well as the production and distribution of film knowledge. Bahasinema was formed in response to the relatively rare screening and discussion programmes in the city of Bandung, especially those that emphasise aspects of discourse and audience perspectives.

Bandung Film Commission (BFC) is a legal association that includes the Bandung Film Society. BFC was established based on the declaration of 71 representatives of individuals and groups of the Bandung film community on their own behalf as the Bandung Film Society Association (ID: Perkumpulan Masyarakat Perfilman Bandung - PMPB). The declaration was made at the first PMPB Congress held in Bandung on 25 March 2019. The purpose of establishing the BFC is to connect various elements of the Bandung film community, in order to build a film ecosystem that will have a positive impact on the Bandung film community and the general public.
