Teenager Florian feels pretty comfortable in his own skin, even though he doesn’t conform to the usual ideas of coolness. To his father, this is all like a thorn in his side.
High diving instructor Hanno shows no understanding for his son, as Florian is fat, a daydreamer, listens to cheesy German pop music and is awkward with girls. Florian is most happy when his father is at the swimming pool and he can dance around the house with his mother in his disco costume. But when Mum falls seriously ill one morning, her two men suddenly have to get along with one another on their own.
