Contemporary experimental music

The second concert for this year’s Alur Bunyi will feature GURU, a situational music group that uses semi-chance compositional methods. The clamor of social media and the vocalization of print media become the source for producing both formulated and disorderly walls of sound. Clashing tonal and atonal systems combine to form ground zero for GURU in exploring satirical narrative layers in response to actual social conditions.

GURU is a situational music group whose members are Mira Rizki, Bayu Pratama, Fahma Rosmansyah, and Gazza Ryandika—four teachers in different disciplines in Bandung, Indonesia. In their work, GURU interacts with chance and embraces error in forming their musicality.

In the series Alur Bunyi, the Goethe-Institut presents and discusses contemporary positions of experimental (not just) electronic music from Indonesia and Germany. This year's edition of Alur Bunyi is curated by Harsya Wahono.
