Goethe-Institut Indonesien and PannaFoto Institute are once again organizing "Exhibition, Presentation & Discussion of Photo Books GERMANY – INDONESIA”.
Since 2008, PannaFoto Institute in partnership with Goethe-Institut, Jakarta have held the Deutscher Fotobuchpreis exhibition, an annual photo book exhibition featuring winners and nominees of Germany’s Photo Book Awards.
Heading into its 8th year, we have seen this programme evolve. In its first years, we presented works consisting of winners and nominees of the best of German Photo Book Awards, with many visitors showing their interest. In the past several years, we noticed an increase in the number of photo books being published by Indonesian photographers. In 2014, we even had the opportunity to display selected Japanese photo books by Japan Foundation, Jakarta for the first time together with German and Indonesian photo books.
This time around, the event will allow visitors to enjoy a series of selected photographs from Deutscher Fotobuchpreis 2015, that made the cut in the category award recipients and nominees. The Indonesian photo book selection include those published in the year 2012 onward.
Besides the photo book exhibition, we are inviting professionals, photo enthusiasts, and government employees who have published photo books.

This event is one of a series of celebrations commemorating Panna‘s 10th anniversary, to be kicked-off with other events, that include: Book launching of “Saujana Sumpu” by Yoppy Pieter at the GoetheHaus Auditorium, March 19, 2016 and “Aku dan Kotaku” photo exhibition at Plaza Senayan Mall, April 13-30, 2016 in cooperation with Leica Store Indonesia. The exhibition will present the works of participants from the “Aku dan Kotaku” workshops held in Jakarta, Bukittinggi, Malang, and Kupang, a programme co-initated with the Goethe-Institut Indonesien.
