After World War II, David and his Jewish friends aim to flee from Germany to America. They start selling unique bed linens to earn the money they need in order to do so. Unbeknownst to his friends, David is being interrogated by a US officer, Sara Simon, about his connections with the Nazi.
 

Sam Garbarski

The movie director Sam Garbarski grew up in Bavaria but moved to Belgium in the age of 22. There he founded his own advertising agency until he started shooting his first short movie and several advertising films in 1997. With Bye Bye Germany Sam Garbarski continues his successful collaboration with actor Moritz Bleibtreu, who also starred in his 2013 English-language film Vijay and I. Garbarski's 2007 feature Irina Palm was an international hit, distributed in over 40 countries and shown in some 30 festivals after premiering in Berlin competition.
