The Ganesha Project is one of Wikipedia Indonesia's measures to improve the quality of social science articles on Wikipedia Bahasa Indonesia.
Wikimedia Indonesia collaborates with Goethe-Institut Indonesien in organizing a competition to write articles on Wikipedia Bahasa Indonesia with topics related to social science and Germany.
This activity aims to improve the quantity and the quality of articles in the field of social science, to increase the number of contributors and new users on Wikipedia Bahasa Indonesia, as well as to increase the source of social science-related reference for education.
The competition will be conducted in several stages, similar to gamification technique, where the participants will receive several missions related to writing articles on Wikipedia. Beginning with the easiest stage to the one with the highest difficulty level.
The theme of Germany will be integrated into some of these missions. The participants will be tasked to write articles on such as German characters, concepts formulated by German figures, socio-political issues and other subjects related to the two major themes.
Assessment of the quality of writing will be done by the committee and the team of jury. The first winner will be awarded a 1-month German course in Germany. The second and third winners will be awarded a German language course in Indonesia for 1 term.
Registration Period: September 1 - October 25, 2017
