Contemporary experimental music

For Alur bunyi, Mery Kasiman will be exploring her original compositions and experimenting with different approaches of compositional style using both acoustic and electronic instrumentation.

Mery Kasiman has been a part of Aksan Sjuman and Committee of the Fest since 2010 and Indonesian band POTRET since 2013 alongside Melly Goeslaw, Anto Hoed, Aksan Sjuman und Nikita Dompas. Outside of creating and performing music, Mery is an Academic Director at Sjuman School of Music. She collaborated with Atas Music (Mono Neurotic, Petra Sihombing, and Rizky Argadipraja) on a project “Live with Heart” in 2017. In February 2018 she launched her debut single “Fallin Apart”. 
 
In the series Alur Bunyi, the Goethe-Institut presents and discusses contemporary positions of experimental (not just) electronic music from Indonesia and Germany. This year's edition of Alur Bunyi is curated by Gerald Situmorang
