The best examples of German music videos produced between 1998 and 2015, selected from the MuVi program of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen
With Ivan Makhsara (Rolling Stone Indonesia) und Eugene Panji (Film director)

We are happy to invite you to the next edition of ArtHouse Cinema Focus on Saturday, May 20, 2017.

The film package Zur Rettung der Popkultur (English title: Saving Pop Culture) collects German music videos from the years 1998 to 2015 in three editions. Saving Pop Culture is a passionate portrait of music video history in Germany, produced by the Goethe-Institut and the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. In this ArtHouse Cinema Focus, we will be taking a look at music videos as an important part of pop culture in Germany and Indonesia.

Between the screenings we will stage discussions with Indonesian music and pop culture journalists and filmmakers.

The selection of the best music videos has shown once again that the Short Film Festival in Oberhausen is an oasis for the artistic interpretation of music that would be smothered by the commercialism of mainstream taste.

Dirk Hein, West Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, 03.05.2015
