Goethe-Institut Jakarta

Pro Evolution Soccer – Jakarta plays for the final

The World Cup football championship tournament and the approaching Asian Games 2018 have raised the temperature of football fever world-wide, also at Goethe-Institut Jakarta!

In our international online video game tournament, the language course participants of Goethe-Institute Bandung, Bangkok, Colombo, Delhi, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Calcutta, Pune and Tokyo are playing against each other using PlayStation to determine a champion.

What’s particularly special about this it is that nobody has to leave their country. The games take place in the Goethe-Institut on site. The competitors will be connected via the internet and then have the chance to lead their respective teams to victory, despite thousands of kilometers between them. The language is, of course, German. The overall winner can look forward to a one-month language course in Germany; second and third places will be awarded a language course grant at their respective Goethe-Instituts.

In the internal preliminary matches in May and June, the Jakarta player who will play in the second round online against competitors from around the world has already been determined: Liswindwinanto Wicaksono triumphed against 27 other players from our language courses. In the next round, which will determine who goes through to the final, Liswindwinanto now has to win against players from China, India and Japan on July 21, 2018.

The final will take place in early September. Who will win? – Jakarta, of course! For that to happen, however, we need the support of all language course participants in the playoff rounds. Come to the big deciding match and cheer for our player – be part of making sure we reach the final:
