Contemporary experimental music

„Horror Fantasy Land“

Responding to “Alur Bunyi”, Random Brothers, Dalilektra and Stevesmith Orchestra experiment with imagination, fantasy, and darkness through trials of sound frequencies that lead to Horror ambience. Using modular synthesizer combined with vocal, acoustic piano and strings quartet, the audience are brought into a journey that appreciates Horror music, yet with enjoyable contemporary aesthetics. The Horror Fantasy Land performance does not insist on mythical values, but instead highlights particular emotions and tense that could provoke imagination, transforming the dark into sublime.

Random Brothers is an Indonesian electronic duo formed by brothers Randy Danistha dan Nara Anindyaguna. Their common passion, thoughts, and musical soul unite them not only on stage but also in music production through Stevesmith Production that they established in 2010.

Known for their use of analog synthesizer in combination with modern technology, the Random Brothers by Blood project is a vehicle for their artistic research. Breaking boundaries and hierarchy, and combining pop and electronic music, they produce unique dark disco tehcno with a hint of synthpop influence.

In the series Alur Bunyi, the Goethe-Institut presents and discusses contemporary positions of experimental (not just) electronic music from Indonesia and Germany. This year's edition of Alur Bunyi is curated by Gerald Situmorang
