Reading as part of the “The Food, The Bad and The Ugly” exhibition

Jürgen Schneider will be the guest at an evening performance by The Domestic Godless as part of the „The Food, The Bad and The Ugly“ exhibition in the Crawford Art Gallery in Cork. The Domestic Godless is an artistic group which has been treading a fine line between cuisine and art for more than fifteen years. They focus on the Irish gastro scene, food culture and unorthodox food combinations in a visual and performative way. Inspired by the Dada art movement, they aim to subvert tasting norms and trace the relationship between contemporary art and food, playing with the idiom “you eat with your eyes”.
Within this programme Jürgen Schneider will read excerpts from McConglinne, Joyce, Montague and Heaney. The evening will be completed by songs and compositions about food and drinks. The author of the books “Irisch Kochen” and “Paddy’s Speis und Trank” will be supported by notable Irish poets and writers such as Gerry Murphy and Matthew Sweeney.
                                                                                                 
                       
The admission will be free, but will be on a first come, first served basis.
