Due to overwhelming demand Liz Roche Company and the Goethe-Institut Irland are remounting "Näher... closer, nearer, sooner" on 15, 16 and 17 February 2019. After a sold out run with rave reviews at Dublin Fringe Festival 2018 the piece is being shown again for these final performances.

Originally created to showcase the newly refurbished Goethe-Institut at Merrion Square, Liz Roche Company gathers again a world class team of collaborators to create a magnificent new site-specific dance piece.

“… exquisitely choreographed… “Näher…closer, nearer, sooner” resonates most powerfully, transforming the Goethe-Institut into a living, breathing, resonant space full of hope and memory.”
Chris O’Rourke The Arts Review ****

Created by leading Irish choreographer Liz Roche the piece is written and co-devised by prolific Irish actor and playwright, Shane O’Reilly with sound design by Roy Carroll and costumes by Catherine Fay. An exceptional cast of dancers take audiences on a thrilling dance odyssey of emotion and movement in Liz Roche Company's latest ambitious work, continuing to forge new territory in dance and audience experience.

Within these new and old walls at Goethe-Institut Irland are layers of stories and memories. This not-to-be-missed dance encounter brings up all of the emotions and movements that bring us closer, encouraging us to share in an intimate living room play and to live the best moment of your lives.

Dancers appear out of nowhere, then vanish. Shadows flit behind walls… in a lithe interplay of vivid recollections, stream-of-consciousness retrospection and guttural reactions.”
Christie Seaver, The Irish Times ****
