Free Learner's Advice Session
For course participants we offer a free learning consultation. The session takes place every Thursday from 4:30pm to 6:00pm and is open to all course participants.
Direct Enrolment
Complete beginners and students with the Goethe-Institut can enrol directly. You can register by phone or in person, or by returning the completed enrolment form to our Language Course Office. Please note that complete beginners do not need to be assessed.

New students with previous knowledge
We would like to meet you in person for an assessment test and advice on suitable classes. We discuss your needs and ensure that you are assigned to the level which suits you best.

We offer tests in our enrolment week from 12pm to 2pm and 5pm to 7.30pm. No booking is required and the test is free of charge. Other times by appointment only. Duration: approx. 30 to 45 minutes.

We offer courses:

We offer 8 weeks beginners courses at Level A1, starting in February, April, September and November.

Autumn/Winter Term 2016/2017
  • Term Dates: Monday, 12.09.2016 – Saturday, 14.01.2017
  • Enrolment and Assessment: 05.09. - 08.09.2016, 12-2pm and 5-7.30pm
Christmas Break: Wednesday 21.12.2016 - Tuesday, 04.01.2017 inclusive

Spring 2017
  • Term Dates: Montag, 30.01.2017 – Samstag, 03.06.2017
  • Enrolment and Assessment: 23.01. - 26.01.2017, 12:00-14:00 hours und 17:00-19:30 hours
Easter Break: Monday 10.04.2017 - Saturday 22.04.2017 inclusive

Summer 2017
  • Term Dates: Monday, 19.06.2017 – Donnerstag, 27.07.2017
  • Enrolment: During normal office hours from May 2017
  • Assessment and advice: Monday 12.06. - Thursday 15.06.2017, 12:00-14:00 hours
Summer Break: The Language Department is closed for the month of August.

Holidays: Irish National Holidays, Bank Holidays and 3 October (German National Holiday)
1. General

1.1  With the exception of our courses for secondary school students, all of our courses are designed for learners aged 18 years and over.
1.2  A teaching unit is 45 minutes.
1.3  Teachers may be changed when necessary during the term.
1.4  There will be no classes on Irish Public or Bank Holidays and on 3 October (German national holiday). Generally, these courses take place on the Friday of that week.

2. Terms of Payment

2.1  The payment of the course fee is due on enrolment.  Early enrolment is advisable as places are limited.  Places are only guaranteed once payment has been received.
2.2  We accept cheques made out to the Goethe-Institut, debit cards and credit cards (Visa/Mastercard).
2.3  If full payment is not received before the first lesson, the participant loses the right to participate in a course and the booking will be cancelled.
2.4  Reservations are subject to a non-refundable deposit of €50.

3. Course fees

3.1  The contractually binding fee is the fee stated in the price list current at the time of enrolment.
3.2  Unless stated otherwise, course books are not included in the course fee and must be purchased separately.

4. Cancellation and refunds

The following conditions apply if the course participant is unable to take part in the course:
4.1  In case of cancellation up to three days prior to the start of the course, the course fee paid is refunded less an administrative fee of €25.  No refunds can be given thereafter.
4.2  Cancellations must be submitted in writing.
4.3  If the Goethe-Institut cancels a course, the full paid course fee will be refunded.
4.4  The Goethe-Institut reserves the right to terminate all language class contracts at its discretion.

5. Course level assignment/ class size

5.1  Assessment of course level is based on the placement test conducted prior to enrolment.
5.2  Our courses have generally a maximum of 18 participants.
5.3  We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a course. In such circumstances we will offer the participants the opportunity to move to another course or to receive a full refund of the course fee.
5.4  Courses with less than 10 students may take place with a 10% reduction in teaching units.

6. Complaints Procedure

6.1  In the event of a complaint, please submit same in written form to the Goethe-Institut Irland, Language Department.

7. Liability of the Goethe-lnstitut e.V.

The liability of the Goethe-Institut and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence.  The Goethe-Institut also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to force majeur (e.g. natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
