Courses for Children and Young Learners

Our general language courses are for young learners from 12 years of age in secondary school to the Leaving Certificate with or without previous knowledge.

We offer courses for A1, A2 and B1 level. Students take our placement test before enrolling in the most suitable course according to their language ability.

The course offers beginners as well as advanced learners the opportunity to improve their German language skills and supports and encourages them in preparing for the Irish Junior or Leaving Certificate.

Our qualified teachers will be with you every step of the way.

How does the course work and which topics are covered?

In the course, young people experience lively and methodically versatile German lessons, which give them the opportunity to use the German language in interactive and varied exercises.

The course places particular emphasis on the active use of the language to enable participants to talk about everyday topics relevant to them and to prepare them to use the language confidently in future professional situations.

The course is based on a modern textbook which takes into account the interests of the young target group.

Learning German made easy. Learn German playfully and without pressure in selected small groups. Our courses are aimed at children and young learners between the ages of 3 and 12.

The courses are suitable for preschool, junior and senior infants and primary school children who already speak a little German as well as for beginners. Each child is supported according to his or her language level.

New Courses from October 2020

In the autumn term we offer courses for bilingual children from 4 years of age. Beginner courses are planned again for spring 2021. 

There are still limited places in the following courses: 

Bilingual children 4 - 6 years: Saturdays, 12.00-13.00 

Bilingual children 7 - 9 years: Saturdays, 12.00-13.00 

Bilingual children 9 - 11 years: Saturdays, 10.45-11.45 

Start: October 3rd 

Duration: 10 weeks 

Course fee: 110 Euro 

All courses take place at the Goethe-Institut. Maximum number of participants in the classes is 8.
