Identitti

For the fifteenth international meeting on 22 February, we have invited the author Mithu Sanyal to read her book Identitti with us.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

What a scandal: Prof. Dr. Saraswati is WHITE! It doesn't get any worse. Because the professor for postcolonial studies in Düsseldorf was just the goddess of all debates about identity - and described herself as a person of color. As if Sally Rooney, Beyoncé and Frantz Fanon were watching Sex Education together, a hunt for “real” belonging begins. While the internet hounds Saraswati and protests are demanding her dismissal, her student Nivedita asks her the most intimate questions. Mithu Sanyal writes with exhilarating self-irony and liberating knowledge. Nobody leaves the spin cycle of this novel as they entered it

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
