Germany@Home presents German writer Florian Wacker
with his short story collection "Albuquerque" and Irish writer June Caldwell
Florian Wacker was born in Stuttgart in 1980 and studied orthopaedagogy before attending the Deutsches Literaturinstitut in Leipzig. He has worked as a carer for young people and people with disabilities as well as in child and adolescent psychiatry. His debut short story collection "Albuquerque" has been published by mairisch Verlag. He lives in Frankfurt am Main with his family.
Florian will also be reading at World Book Fest in Cork on Saturday 22 April, 2 pm. It is a special pleasure that Florian's Irish translator Rachel McNicholl
will be present at both readings.
June Caldwell is a journalist, award-winning blogger & fiction writer. Her story SOMAT is published in The Long Gaze Back – An Anthology of Irish Women Writers edited by Sinéad Gleeson/New Island. She’s a prizewinner of The Moth International Short Story Prize. Her first collection of short stories will be published by New Island in May 2017.
