As part of LCMS Silenzio 2017
Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, the leading a cappella ensemble in Germany, will present Salvatore Sciarrino's Twelve Madrigali
for the first time on an Irish stage. The seven concert and opera soloists are constantly looking for new sounds, vocal techniques and forms of vocal expression. Therefore, they take on the works of both acclaimed and aspiring composers.
As part of Silenzio Festival 2017, the Louth Contemporary Music Society will introduce Sicilian composer Salvatore Siciarrino to an Irish audience. Twelve Madrigali
was commissioned by the Salzburg Festival. For this work Siciarrino, one of the greatest contemporary composers, was inspired by Japanese haiku.
Afterwards flutist Matteo Cesari will interpret another one of Siciarrino's works, Trovare un equilibrio, è necessario?
, alongside string quartet Quartetto Promoteo.
Admission: €10, incl. a glass of wine at the interval. Booking online at Eventbrite.
