The famous Jazz Trio is back in Ireland in October 2017
With the Michael Wollny Trio a critically acclaimed piano band is coming back to Ireland. The ensemble is headed by Michael Wollny, a multi-award winning jazz pianist from Germany, who has exploded onto the European jazz scene in recent years, thanks to the electrifying spontaneity of his live gigs and a series of highly-acclaimed recordings. From tender ballads to wild rollercoaster rides, the ideas come thick and fast, each almost tripping over the last. He is melding jazz, rock, pop and classical music into a thrillingly inventive whole.
Music critics are highly recommending his work. The Irish Times described the trio as “extravagantly talented” meanwhile the Jazzwise Magazine is overwhelmed by “a dazzling, high-energy live show”.
The current line-up features Eric Schaefer on drums and Christian Weber double bass.
