To kick-off "Chat Bot, Art Bot, Book Bot", a series of events about Artificial Intelligence and work in the cultural sector from 21 to 23 March 2019, the Goethe-Institut is showing the award-winning documentary "Pre-Crime", which looks at AI and policing.

New technological developments are everywhere. They play an especially important role in Predictive Policing, making it possible to expose crimes before they take place. For this purpose, police and private enterprises worldwide rely on the analysis of Big Data and AI. This documentary provides a glimpse both into the lives of people whose job it is to develop this technology, as well as those who have fallen victim to this form of data monitoring. In so doing, it raises the fundamental question of whether the global increase in security measures justify the full monitoring of private individuals and how our world of work changes with AI.

Festivals: International Documentary Filmfestival Munich 2017, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival 2017, Filmfestival Hamburg 2017, Dublin International Film Festival 2018
