The Goethe-Institut Irland is happy to support vocal ensemble Tonnta for the first performance by an Irish group of the rarely-heard vocal work: STIMMUNG by Karlheinz Stockhausen.
This work uses six vocalists in an hour-long meditation on the musical possibilities of the harmonic overtone series. The performance will be set underneath the domed rotunda of Dublin City Hall.

This great work is full of many demanding techniques for the singers, but in our performance we capture the lightness and breath that is so important to this wonderful work. It is full of mysticism and surreal moments.
