Concert as part of the Dublin International Film Festival 2020

Since its inception in 2003, the Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF) is taking place shortly after the Berlinale, this year from 26 February to 8 March. The Goethe-Institut Irland is delighted that once again two films from Germany will be presented at the festival. As both films from Germany focus on the topic of music, the Goethe-Institut Irland is delighted to partner up with the Dublin International Film Festival and the Royal Irish Academy of Music to host a lunchtime concert in its premises at 37 Merrion Square as part of the festival.

Following previous Royal Irish Academy of Music presentations with Irish writers, artists and theatre directors, Ireland’s oldest music conservatoire will mount another collaborative ‘choice’ programme in 2020, on this occasion entitled Filmmaker’s Choice. In partnership with the Festival and Goethe-Institut Irland, the Academy turns to a selection of Ireland’s filmmakers to nominate musical works of special personal significance to them. An eclectic mix of musical works nominated by several filmmakers such as Lorcan Finnegan, Orla Brady, Niamh Algar and Neasa Hardiman will be performed by musicians of the RIAM.

Tickets are available here.
