CocoonDance Company, invited by the
Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore, will host a
four-day workshop from
October 18 to 22, 2021 for city-based dance artists and movement enthusiasts.
The dance workshop will culminate in a
curtain-raiser performance to
CocoonDance Company’s
'Hybridity' on October 22, 2021, before an exclusive audience from Bangalore’s arts and culture scene.
Based out of Bonn, Germany,
CocoonDance Company was founded by choreographer
Rafaële Giovanola and dramaturge
Rainald Endraß in 2000. The company has established itself as a premier dance-arts institution, having performed across the world including at our very own Attakkalari India Biennial in 2019.
The
four-day workshop will be held in a
hybrid structure; tutors from
CocoonDance Company will teach the workshop virtually from Germany to participants assembled at the venue in Bangalore.
Rafaële Giovanola and
Alvaro Esteban are the workshop leaders from
CocoonDance Company. They will be further assisted by
Bangalore-based movement artist,
Snigdha Prabhakar.
The workshop which is inspired by the production '
Hybridity' will enable the participants to learn about the technique and concepts around the choreography of Hybridity: how do ballet and Thai boxing meet in one body?
