Your project can be in any field and on any topic – there are no restrictions – and is a distinctive opportunity to gain direction or to find your way to clarity.
Forecast Condensed focusses on half-finished, nonfunctioning, or previously unsuccessful concepts, which may be missing an important idea, or for which so far there may not be a plausible application or suitable context.
What you can expect from Forecast Condensed
- Discuss and evaluate project ideas in an intensive joint workshop
- Receive constructive and stimulating criticism
- Receive advice and feedback from mentors with expertise in multiple fields
- Question and interrogate unclear concepts and doubts to find where qualities, promise, and potential lie
- Present concepts, as questions, have a discussion and receive feedback
Simply submit the following materials via email, by or before, the deadline.
- Brief biography (150 words) and CV
- Names and contact details (email address, phone number) of two references
- An abstract about your project or concept
- A concise project brief that includes an outline of the kind of guidance you require and questions or roadblocks with which you are struggling
Projects will be selected by a jury consisting of Forecast and Goethe-Institut members. Successful applicants will be informed of the jury’s decision by the end of August 2025.
About Forecast and Forecast Condensed
Forecast is a platform dedicated to facilitating, mentoring, and promoting trailblazing creative practices and audacious artistic practitioners. Forecast encompasses one-on one mentorships; the workshop series Forecast Condensed; and is the initiator of art science collaborations with multiple institutional partners, such as Driving the Human (2020–2023) and Housing the Human (2018–2019). Its work has been supported by a range of high-profile cultural bodies, most notably the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, Goethe Institute, Creative Europe, as well as many international funding institutions such as the British Council, Institut Français, Mondriaan Fund, and Australia Council for the Arts.
Forecast Condensed is a transdisciplinary workshop format developed by the facilitating program Forecast. Within this format Forecast's methodology—honed over a decade of mentoring and facilitating creative projects—is condensed into a highly energetic session, offering practitioners and thinkers from a wide range of disciplines the opportunity to examine projects and enhance their applicability with advice and feedback from a panel of mentors.
