Goethe on Demand

On Goethe on Demand, the streaming platform of the Goethe-Institut, we present a variety of online film programs, film festivals and film series that can be streamed from home. More information about the alternating film series can be found here. The films are presented in original language with subtitles. They are accessible online and free of charge after registration.

Advisory: The films are recommended for viewing by people aged 18 years and above.

On 5 September 2022, Werner Herzog celebrated his 80th birthday. His work has had a decisive influence on New German Cinema and makes him an important representative of international auteur filmmaking. To mark the occasion, we take a look at five films from his rich oeuvre.

Numerous milestone birthdays of famous filmmakers are coming up in 2022. Werner Herzog's 80th birthday will certainly receive due media coverage. In our birthday calendar, we will honor a birthday child  - filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, cinematographers, editors - every month with a film recommendation. For one month at a time, the films will be available via Goethe-on-Demand.

Science Film Festival
