My first impression of India was…
As I arrived at night, my very first impression was that it smelt good. But to say something more essential; impressions are made from expectations and my expectation was to find it crowded and chaotic. But it wasn't like that. It seems to be a free society.

Things in Mumbai that remind me of my hometown Kranichfeld …
What reminds me most is the filmmaker I worked with - Madhuri Mohinder; because working with her was like working with my colleagues in Germany.

One thing I noticed in India ( and which is rather untypical in Germany)...
The Colors. The women dress very colorfully.

A lasting memory of India...
The sense of peace in the midst of a busy life.

After studying History of Arts and German studies Daniela Danz pursuid a teaching position in Osnabrück and worked as a Kunstinventarisatorin. Today she is working as a freelance author and teaches at Hildesheim Uiversity. Danz’ written works include poetry, prose, essays and children’s literature

The Poets Translating Poets Festival in Mumbai between 25 and 27 November 2016, organised by Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan was a major success.
