What are the roles of men and women in your culture, family and school? Are there any parallels or differences, or any injustices? What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a girl or a boy? How are women and girls disadvantaged, and what forms of gender-based violence exist?
In guided discussions on topics like these, our participating PASCH students can increase their knowledge about human rights, democracy and equality. They will produce gender-homogeneous group films for each other, which they then exchange and discuss together. In this way they can share their views and personal experiences with one another, and create a holistic and deeper understanding of the subject matter. With German as the language of communication and production, our participants shall use their smartphones in a cinematic way, use interviews, scripts and film narratives in an optimal way, and write and create a shooting schedule. They will learn the legal foundations of equal rights, historical background of the human rights movement and discuss equal opportunities with an awareness of different gender perspectives.
In doing so, they deepen their language skills through reading, writing and listening comprehension. The online workshops are based on the method of participative video work and are democratic, inclusive and interactive. The participants shall make all editing decisions; following which the final editing of the films is to be done by Glocal Films. On the last day of the workshop all 20 participants will watch both the films and discuss their different perspectives.
The films will be celebrated and broadcasted in a final online screening session.
