How DO WE CREATE SAFE SHARED SPACES IN OUR CITIES?

A WORKSHOP-SERIES OVER 3 DAYS!

For: young and young-at-heart people aged 17 and above

Public space is the place where different people meet.  How can it be designed and used so that everyone can use it for themselves? How can it become safe even in times of Corona? In this workshop, we will discuss various topics that are important for the quality of stay and liveliness of public space. We also want to discuss what needs to be done in times of climate change to create protection from extreme weather and environmental pollution.

Workshop Instructor: Prof. Dr. Frank Eckardt

Prof. Dr. Frank Eckardt holds a doctorate in political science and since 2008 he is a Professor for Social Science Urban Research at the Bauhaus University Weimar, where he is active in the education of urban planners.  His research focuses on issues of social inequality and cultural diversity in the city. Recent publications include "Reserach and Policy on Urban Displacement Processes" and "Urban Policy for All! Cities between Pandemic and Transformation" published by Springer Verlag.
