Digital Culture Techniques

We are very happy to announce a series of workshops for children, which are based on Coding. This is related to our exhibition Open Codes. Digital Culture Techniques – a collaboration with ZKM, Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. All the workshops will take place in our gallery.
 
The details are:

3D Doodling

For kids above 9 years, participants will learn to use 3D pens and create objects of their own design! Curiosity Gym will provide all necessary tools and 3D doodlers for the workshop.

Creative Coding

For 12 + year olds, participants will learn the basics of coding and how to use it creatively to build games, art works and other fun things. The workshop will be conducted by Christian Lölkes, curator of Open Codes: Digital Culture Techniques from Karlsruhe, Germany. Participants will have to bring their own laptop. Software will be provided. This workshop is part of the programmes associated with the exhibition Open Codes. Digital Culture Techniques, on view at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai. Participants will also be given a guided tour of the exhibition.

Code your own 3D printed object

For 14 + year olds, participants will learn to write simple code to generate a CAD model of an object, after which they will be introduced to the process of 3D Printing. Participants will have to bring their own laptops, Curiosity Gym will provide access to the necessary software. This workshop is part of the programmes associated with the exhibition Open Codes. Digital Culture Techniques, on view at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai. Participants will also be given a guided tour of the exhibition.

Gamified Cryptography

For 12 + year olds, in a gamified manner, participants will learn the basics of cryptography and its history as a method of sending secret messages. Curiosity Gym will provide all necessary material for the workshop. This workshop is part of the programmes associated with the exhibition Open Codes. Gamified Blockchain

For 12 + year olds, participants will learn the basics of blockchain and play an interactive game that prompts individuals to think how blockchains can be used to revolutionise the secure information age, followed by a design thinking workshop on how Blockchain can be used to help society. Curiosity Gym will provide access to the necessary material. This workshop is part of the programmes associated with the exhibition Open Codes.
