“Thank you for calling Meridian. We would like to assure you that any information or data collected from you during this call is confidential.
Before we begin, please ensure that you are able to participate in this call in a comfortable and discreet environment. Are you ready? Good. This programme is divided into lines. Each line is its own meridian, its own story.
None of these lines are based on the facts of your own life. Please choose the options that seem most reasonable to you in the moment. Treat them as your current truth. That is enough. To begin, press 1.”

Meridian is a performance designed for interactive voice response (IVR) technology in your phones. It has been imagined for a time of isolation, when many of us rely on the support of remote systems, listening and seeking a deeper humanity, a more empathetic voice.

Made by Farah Batool, Irawati Karnik, Kriti Pant, Neel Chaudhuri, Samar Grewal and Shivaji Das
Produced by the Tadpole Repertory
Commissioned by Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi

Coming soon - February 2021
