The 2018 edition of the German Week - the annual event of the German Departments of universities in India – will be hosted by the Delhi University from 19th -23rd February.
 
To give the participants an impression of young, contemporary German literature the author Senthuran Varatharajah has been invited. His first novel Von der Zunahme der Zeichen published in 2016 has been highly acclaimed by German literary critics.

On 21st February, Wednesday at 19:00 hrs Senthuran Varatharajah will read from his book in the library of the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi and will be in conversation with Maja Nemere, lecturer of the German Academic Exchange Service at Delhi University.

On 22nd February, Thursday at 14:00-17:00 hrs Senthuran Varatharajah will run a writer’s workshop at JNU (by invitation only).

Born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka in 1984 Senthuran Varatharajah came to Germany with his family. He studied philosophy, theology and cultural sciences in Marburg, Berlin and London. He has received a number of awards amongst them the 2017 Adalbert-von-Chamisso Promotional Prize. Senthuran Varatharajah presently lives in Berlin.
