A festival for experimental films and new media art

The expression "Little Cinema" draws its inspiration from the long drawn strife over "Little Film", "Little Magazine" and "Little Theatre" in Bengal. Marking its 5th edition, TENT ‘Little Cinema International Festival’ 2018, brings within our purview films, video and art, which flow outside the circuits of dominant and mainstream festivals. In the process, fellow artists, reserachers, curators, and independent filmmakers, from across the globe, have joined the stream, and have contributed and strengthened alternative networks by adding to the exceptional programme.
The six-day festival includes experimental essay films and videos from “The Berlin International Film Festival 2018”, titled “Berlinale Spotlight”, and almost all important prize-winners from the International Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, 2017. In addition, the programme includes a “retrospective” of the Brazilian duo -- Duo Strangeloscope -- who are entirely focused on movement, rhythm, and composition; along with outstanding experimental films and videos made by 10 young women from Brazil. The programme also comprises experimental films and videos from Thailand, Vietnam, Spain, USA, Argentina, Netherlands, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, which have been facilitated by fellow artists and researchers.
The film shows will be accompanied by special events, where artists, curators and collaborators will be present for interactions.

Open to all.
