feat. Aman Mahajan/piano and Nishad Pandey/guitar
is a duo based out of Bangalore and Berlin
, featuring Aman Mahajan
on piano and Nishad Pandey
on guitar. Performing entirely original repertoire, their music is an organic confluence of jazz, Western and Indian classical music, and contemporary influences.
The Concert titled Heads and Tales
at the Bhavan,
consisting exclusively of original material written for piano and guitar, is Tinctures' first compositional effort, with each piece having been conceived as a sonic environment in which various musical games are played, and concepts are explored. Primary to the duo's musical concerns is the idea of musical interplay and narrative, drawn from sources often beyond the realms of music. The compositions provide fresh contexts for familiar sounds, and explore the nature of consonance and dissonance on the piano and guitar.
