Singularity is a series of photographs by Bangalore-based photographer
Sandeep TK, including several taken during his
bangaloREsidency-Expanded@
Lichtenberg Studios in Berlin in 2017. The series captures a time and frame of mind when he was passing through the phase of separation and bitter heartbreak in his personal life.
In stark contrast to a populous country like India, the location of the residency was scantily populated. The elaborate architecture and wide streets made the place seem all the more deserted. This pushed Sandeep to begin reflecting on the self and understanding the meaning of solitude. Without conversing with most of his subjects, he could only imagine the story behind each one of them. He was the silent observer.
Through his photographs, Sandeep brings together a variety of people with whom he thought he shared a similar status quo.
