Commemorating Karl Marx’s 200th Birthday @Goethe-Institut Chennai

Karl Heinrich Marx (5 May 1818 - 14 March 1883) was a philosopher, sociologist, journalist and economist.  Both lauded and criticized, he has been described as one of the most influential figures in human history. 2018 marks the 200th birth anniversary of Karl Marx and provides a unique opportunity to revisit Marx and the impact of his theories on  subsequent intellectual, economic and political history Goethe-Institut Chennai pays tribute to the 19th century thinker who published numerous books during his lifetime, the most notable being The Communist Manifesto (1848) and Das Kapital (1867–1894).
