Widely acclaimed author Leonhard Thoma joins us in conversation about his work.German language learners may be already familiar with his short stories which are not only entertaining but also help in learning the language.
German language teachers and current /past German language learners can participate in this event where the reading is in German and open to all upon registration

This event which enables author-reader interaction besides a virtual reading will take place on ZOOM 6:00 - 7:00 pm. (IST) .

LEONHARD THOMA

© Goethe Institut Chennai Leonhard Thoma studied literature and philosophy in Munich. He then gained teaching experience in Berlin, Dijon and Paris and then worked for many years as a German teacher and lecturer in German literature at a university in Barcelona. For about 20 years he has been writing stories for German Language Classes (including “Das Idealpaar”, “Der Salto”, “Doros Date” etc.). He currently lives as a freelance writer in Augsburg and combines writing with readings and workshops all over the world.

About the readings:
The author reads his stories in a manner that they can be easily understood: slowly and with a lot of gestures and facial expressions. The audience shouldn't just listen! There are questions and small tasks where everyone can take part. The stories are suitable for teenagers and adults. German language skills at level A2 are required.
