The panel discussion is part of the inaugural event of the Exhibition titled LET NO ONE MISTAKE US FOR THE FRUIT OF VIOLENCE curated by Vidisha-Fadescha at Seminar Hall, DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum, ECR, Chennai.
This project as a whole comes under the frame work of M3: Man, Male, Masculine ,the South-Asian regional project on the theme of Masculinities. The project aims to discuss current visions of masculinity with children and young adults of both genders in India and Bangladesh.
As part of the M3 deliberations, a panel discussion on Masculinity in Film addresses on screen masculinity in diverse perspectives from the various stakeholders - filmmakers, film critics, film actors, film scholars and film audiences. Codification of 'Man', representation of male characteristics and performing masculinity in a media format with a wide reach that impacts young male and female audiences will be discussed.
