SEMINAR ON DANCE PEDAGOGY

Since its inception in 2011, Basement 21 has engaged with the question of pedagogy for the contemporary maker/performer through workshops, mentorships and curation. Our festival March Dance too has prioritized learning and development of ongoing relationships with a new community of artists from across the country, for whom the festival - we hope - is more than a platform to witness performances.

This year, we invite participants and visitors - the practitioners and the engaged audience - to our festival to think together. To share modalities of teaching or learning that have either worked or not. To articulate the gaps and to dream together towards a future - both rigorous and critical. Towards new pedagogical possibilities that contextualizes our particular approach as well as its complexities.

Speaker attendance is by invitation. Others can participate through registration via basement 21 mail.basement21@gmail.com  by March 17th, with a brief Q&A session at the end.
