OFF THE CHART is a living measurement of body proportion to mark out a pattern of symmetrical squares and circles. Going around the grid, a corporeal notation of overlapping circles is drawn to reveal repetitive geometrical shapes. Using the human form as the main subject, stripping the performance of decorative elements, the live drawing uses the body to chart out geometric patterns onto the ground, leaning into the corporeality of each chalk mark. Each move, an action line unfurling rings of circles.

OFF THE CHART was first presented at Dance Nucleus Vector #1 and an iteration was performed in response to Antony Gomley’s Horizon Field at National Gallery Singapore.

Biography
Pat Toh (Singapore, 1981) is an artist working on, with and about the body. She makes performances that intersect at theater, dance and the live arts. She centers corporeal materiality beneath cultural representation. Her movement work draws from the body as site, resource and medium which strips the performance of decorative elements reducing it to the plain act of physical labour.
